The Royal Holloway University of London prides itself on being a pioneering university, steeped in history and culture, yet constantly evolving and adapting to the demands of modern higher education.
The University recently embarked on two projects to improve facilities within the buildings which have specified the use of LiGO smart Lighting Control solutions.
Working directly with the University, Hand Deere & Cox Consulting and KPL Electrical the first project was to replace the old fluorescent lighting in the sports hall with a new led, smartly control lighting solution with integration to the on site BMS.
LiGO2 our latest solution for smaller areas proved to be perfect for this application and was installed on site along with a seven button scene switch and LED light fixtures.
The Sports hall was split into two lighting zones to operate for different sports activities and to also double up as an exams hall when required.
LiGO2’s built in functionality enabled different lighting scenes to be pre programmed to change at the push of a button enabling the sports hall lighting to be changed quickly and easily as required.
The Lighting is much improved and the end users now have full control of the lighting levels and zones in the hall for the variety of different leisure activities which take place.
This upgrade project has provided the Royal Holloway University of London with an easy to use and adjust smart lighting control solution for the sports hall which also integrates into the on site BMS solution.
FUNCTIONALITY
Scene Setting
Light levels and effects can be programmed according to the changing uses of a building, these can then be automatically programmed, controlled via web log-in or changed at the touch of a button.
LED Control - Hours Run / Maintenance
LED real estate is one of the largest investments in lighting. We understand LED, and how to get the longest life from your LED estate. With the runtimes of fittings being stored and logged within LiGO it’s easy to go back to a manufacturer’s claim of 50k hours when the fitting has only lasted 800!
Integration
LiGO multi- protocol connectivity, including cloud connectivity via MQTT/Rest/FTP. LiGO is easily integrated into Building Management Systems (BMS) or any open protocol third party system.
